Kids have a great time playing and learning while parents talk about parenting and Nurturing Spiritual “Roots & Wings”
As the saying goes, “there are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children. One of these is roots; the other, wings.” This sentiment is particularly apt for our children’s developing spiritual lives and complements the credo of the church’s founders: “Kodomo no tame ni” (for the sake of the children). Through the lens of Christian Stewardship and the various ministries and activities of our church, we will explore how families and the extended Ohana community may nurture the seeds of faith in our young people and in ourselves now and into the future to continue this legacy. The parent program will be led by Lay Leader Jeri Okamoto-Tanaka and include a guided meditation, slide presentation, discussion and prayer reflection time. Join us while the kids enjoy their own special lessons! Potluck lunch follows.
