Memorial Day Service

Monday, May 27, 9:00 AM, Woodlawn Cemetery
The 60th annual Memorial Day service at Woodlawn Cemetery will be held on Monday, May 27. The combined Buddhist and Christian service, which is open to the public, begins at 9:00 AM.
This Memorial Day marks 60 years since Japanese American communities on the Westside started to gather at the Ireito (memorial tower) to honor the area’s Issei Pioneer and Nisei soldiers who died in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. They endured hardship and sacrifice in hopes of opportunities now enjoyed by current and future generations.
West LA UMC is one of seven churches, temples, and centers sponsoring this event.  All are welcome to attend.
